Finally…there is vanity. Probably for your children more important than practicality when buying backpacks for school is getting one that is all the rage. You know…that perfect “mom and dad, I’ve got to have that one!”  Regardless of how much you argue, if they put it on, walk around with it and check them-selves out in a dressing mirror, it won’t matter how durable or not durable, how sensible or not sensible – you might as well pull out your wallet.
